First Chords

These are my triad versions of simple chords. The D chord is hard to make easier, so we’ve made it only two notes and turned it into a sus2 chord for now to make it easier to learn.

Pro Tip

When you’re working on chord changes, slow everything way down. Playing fast can hide problems, but moving slowly exposes them and gives your hands time to learn the motion properly. You’re only ever as fast as your slowest chord change, so if one switch consistently causes hesitation, tension, or buzzing, that’s the spot to focus on. Practice that exact movement slowly enough to stay relaxed and intentional, making each change clean. As the motion starts to feel easy at a slow tempo, speed will naturally follow — without forcing it.
